While we wait for the State of Texas to approve a one-time teacher pay raise, the Malakoff ISD Board has approved an increase in MISD pay scales according to the following:

The teacher pay scale (this includes teachers, counselors, nurses (RN), and librarians) was increased by $3000.00 per pay step. For example, the pay step for a teacher with one year of experience increased from $42,000 to $45,000.

The MISD Board approved the pay increase as an advancement in anticipation of a one-time raise from the State of Texas. The MISD pay step raise, however, is a permanent change.

For all other district positions, the Board approved a three percent increase to pay.
